Early Wednesday morning, October 28, narcotics detectives received an anonymous tip in reference to a subject distributing large amounts of methamphetamine and as a result of the tip; David Duplessis Jr. and Tori Orillion were arrested.
According to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, detectives followed Duplessis to a local hotel and located his vehicle illegally parked in the roadway. Both Duplessis and Orillion were in the vehicle. Detectives searched the vehicle and located a handgun, a quantity of Suboxone, 34 grams of methamphetamine, drug packaging, and seized approximately $2,500 in cash. Detectives also searched the hotel room the two were staying in and located a scale and drug paraphernalia.
The approximate street value of the methamphetamine seized was $3,500.
David Duplessis Jr, 29, of 11073 Rip Duplessis Road, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm by convicted felon, operating vehicle while license suspended, stopping or parking outside business or residence districts, and illegal carrying of weapons.
Duplessis has a lengthy criminal history and has been arrested over 15 times with charges stemming from theft, burglary, and drug charges.
Tori Orillion, 21, of 48181 Sam Martin Road, St. Amant, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia prohibited acts, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone, and illegal carrying of weapons.
Both were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail early Wednesday morning where no bond has been set yet.
