Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrest of 47-year-old Ron McZeal who was arrested by narcotics detectives on Thursday, March 9 after a month-long investigation into illegal narcotics being shipped to his residence.
Detectives began a joint investigation with the Baton Rouge Police Department and witnessed McZeal retrieve a package from his residence and then left the area.
Detectives initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and McZeal consented to detectives searching his vehicle. Concealed in the package was five pounds of marijuana which has an approximate street value of $20,000, added Chief Webre. Also seized from the vehicle was a digital scale and approximately $1,500 in cash.
Ron McZeal, 47, of 12072 Cypress Ridge Drive, Geismar, was arrested on Thursday, March 9 and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS, drug paraphernalia, and no turn signals. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
