According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, detectives arrested 36-year-old Amanda Craven on Tuesday, July 24 on aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by convicted felon charges.

On Wednesday, July 18, shortly before 9 p.m., deputies responded to the Dollar General store on Highway 42 after a store clerk caught Craven on surveillance video stealing items from the store. The store clerk confronted Craven outside the store and Craven reportedly pulled a weapon on the clerk before fleeing the scene.

Craven has a lengthy criminal history with over 17 arrests with charges stemming from theft, simple burglary, and drug charges.

Craven, of 41433 Merritt Evans Road, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by convicted felon. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
