APSO ARREST NEW ORLEANS MAN ON MULTIPLE BURGLARY CHARGES – 2/28/2018 9:00 AM

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Division began investigating a string of residential burglaries dating back to August 2017 where firearms, televisions, and other valuables were taken.

According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, throughout the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify Thomas Poche, 34, as a suspect.

With the assistance of the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the New Orleans Police Department, Poche was located and arrested.

Investigators searched Poche’s residence in New Orleans and seized a handgun along with other stolen property from other jurisdictions.

Poche was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Thursday, February 22 and charged with five counts of burglary of an inhabited dwelling, four counts theft of a firearm, four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of theft, identity theft, two counts of criminal trespassing, and two counts of damage to property.

Poche has a criminal history dating back to 2008 with charges of burglary and drug charges.

Poche may also face additional charges as this case is still under investigation.
