Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports the arrest of 22-year-old Timyrus Jenkins in connection with a residential burglary, and two suspects remain at large.

19-year-old Rayquan Ransom and 17-year-old James David are wanted as suspects in a burglary that occurred on Thursday, December 21 at a residence on Royal Dunes Drive.

Deputies responded to a report of a burglary on Saturday, December 23, after officers with the Gonzales Police Department reported locating a safe that belonged to the homeowners of the Royal Dunes Drive residence. Detectives learned that the homeowners were currently on vacation and that the residence showed signs of a burglary.

As the investigation continued, it was learned that Jenkins, along with Ransom and David, entered the residence during the early morning hours and stole a safe, jewelry, a handgun, and collectible coins. The suspects then returned the next night and reportedly stolen various electronics and two vehicles from the driveway of the residence that were later recovered.

Deputies were able to view video surveillance that showed the suspects dumping the safe on Friday morning and were able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle where deputies obtained a name and address of the vehicle driven. Detectives executed a search warrant on the residence and located the stolen collectible coins and a small quantity of marijuana. A short while later Jenkins turned himself into authorities.

Jenkins, of 42143 Conifer Drive, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, possession of marijuana, theft of a firearm, and felony theft.

Both Rayquan Ransom and James David are both still wanted and will be charged with two counts simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, theft of a firearm, two counts felony theft, and two counts theft of a motor vehicle.
