The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with any information leading to the person responsible for the hit-n-run fatality that left 67-year-old Daniel Lafleur, Sr. lifeless..

Just after sunrise Saturday morning, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s authorities responded to a report of a body lying next to a bicycle on the shoulder of Parker Road near the entrance of Meadowview Subdivision in Prairieville.

Deputies identified the body as that of 67-year-old Daniel Lafleur, Sr. The bike, believed to be Lafleur’s, was found next to his body. The preliminary investigation revealed that Lafleur was riding his bike on Parker Road, not far from his home, when he was struck by a motorist. Crime scene findings suggest that the suspect’s vehicle should have sustained some type of damage to the right front area.
