APSO make drug, illegal weapons arrests

On September 27, deputies were patrolling the area of Marchand Drive and D. Thibaut Drive in Donaldsonville when they observed a vehicle with an expired temporary tag, displaying expired July 15, 2020.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 28-year-old Trevel Dunn and passenger, 29-year-old Max Batiste. In plain sight, deputies observed a handgun laying on the back floor of the vehicle. After further investigation, it was learned that the handgun was reported stolen in 2015.

A further search located a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an additional handgun.

Trevel Dunn was arrested and charged with expired plate, registration required, illegal possession of stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and illegal carry of weapons. He was released on September 29 on a $15,000 bond.

Max Batiste was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, drug paraphernalia and illegal carry of weapons. His bond was set at $30,000 and he is still incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail.
