APSO MAKES ARREST IN ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY CASE – 4/4/2019 4:18 PM

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit arrested Brennan Shy, 17, of Baton Rouge, on charges of four counts attempted armed robbery, four counts attempted armed robbery with a firearm, home invasion, and aggravated kidnapping.

On March 25, shortly before 11 p.m., Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Highway 621 in reference to an attempted armed robbery. Upon deputies arrival it was learned that three males wearing hooded shirts entered the residence brandishing handguns at four victims who were present inside the residence. The suspects fled the area prior to deputies’ arrival and it was discovered that the suspects did not take anything from the residence.

After detectives began their investigation, they were able to identify one of the suspects involved, Brennan Shy.

Two other suspects are being sought for their involvement. They are both described as short black males who were wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

Shy was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
