Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Prairieville man wanted for domestic abuse battery after a physical altercation ensued between him and a female acquaintance.
According to Major Ward Webb, on Monday, December 14, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Rue Royale Avenue in Prairieville in reference to a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and located a female who stated she was involved in a physical altercation with 37- year-old William Simoneaux and that he had hit her several times and made death threats towards her.
Simoneaux fled the scene and was not located that day. Simoneaux later told deputies that he would turn himself in, but has failed to do so.
As the investigation continued, it was learned that Simoneaux is a convicted felon and has been arrested on domestic violence charges in the past. He has been arrested eight times with charges stemming from simple battery, second-degree battery, armed robbery, and drug charges.
Over the past week, deputies have attempted to locate Simoneaux at several different addresses but he has not yet been arrested, said Major Webb.
William Simoneaux, 37, unknown address, is wanted for domestic abuse battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
