The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for 45-year-old Tywarnd McMillian who is wanted on charges of first-degree rape, second-degree sexual battery, false imprisonment, and offender armed with a dangerous weapon.

According to Sheriff Jeff Wiley, on Friday, October 19, shortly before 6 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Guedry Road in Sorrento in reference to a rape that just occurred. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, advised deputies that she was raped by McMillian, who is also known as “T.” Deputies observed several injuries to the victim’s body and she was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries. The victim advised deputies that she had known the suspect for approximately three years.

Deputies attempted to locate McMillian but were unsuccessful as he fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.

McMillian is known as a violent offender with an extensive criminal history with charges including armed robbery, first-degree robbery, illegal carrying of weapons, several drug violations, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
