DONALDSONVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR HIT AND RUN AND OTHER CHARGES – 5/17/2018 11:39 AM

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrest of 37-year-old Byron Gauthreaux for hit and run, aggravated damage to property, stop signs and yield signs, and operating a vehicle while license is suspended.

On March 17, deputies began searching for a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run in the Ascension Trace neighborhood in Darrow.

According to Chief Deputy Webre, at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, a dark colored sedan driving at a high rate of speed ran a stop sign and hit a residence on Hemmingway Drive and left the scene.

On May 13, deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle and located and arrested Gauthreaux after he admitted to hitting the residence and fleeing the scene.

Gauthreaux was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Sunday, May 13, and his bond was set at $2,000.
