DONALDSONVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED ON ATTEMPTED SECOND-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE – 7/27/2017 10:26 AM

According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, deputies responded to a residence on Claiborne Street in Donaldsonville in reference to a shooting Tuesday night, July 25.

Upon deputies arrival they learned that a female sustained a gunshot wound to the face. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she is being treated with non-life threatening injuries.

As the investigation continued, it was learned that the victim and 49-year-old Andrea Jackson got into a verbal altercation. Jackson then reached for a handgun and shot the victim in the face.

Jackson, of 302 Claiborne Street, Donaldsonville, was arrested on July 25 and charged with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
