Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of five people following an investigation that began on June 11 where a man was located in the trunk of his vehicle, according to Lt. Col. Ward Webb.
St. James Parish Sheriff’s deputies located an abandoned vehicle on Highway 70 in Convent on June 11 and located a male in the trunk of the vehicle severely beaten. As the investigation continued it was learned that the male was placed in the trunk as a result of a robbery that occurred on Panama Road in Sorrento. A joint investigation with St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed that 40-year-old Heather Firmin contacted the victim to come to her residence located on Panama Road. When he arrived he was confronted and knocked unconscious by Dustin Eddy, Richard Allen, Shane Redman and David Gonday.
The four men took several electronics and clothing items from his vehicle and then placed him in the trunk and drove him to Highway 70 in Convent and left the vehicle.
Detectives located Firmin, Eddy, and Allen on June 15 where they were arrested. Firmin, of 6100 Panama Road, Sorrento, was arrested and charged with principal to attempted firstdegree murder, attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, simple kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS.
Dustin Eddy, 36, of 41120 Cannon Road, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with principal to attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, and simple kidnapping.
54-year-old Richard Allen of 6100 Panama Road, Sorrento, was arrested and charged with possession of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of schedule IV CDS, and drug paraphernalia and bonded out on a $30,000 bond set by Judge Kliebert. After further investigation, Allen was re-arrested on Thursday, June 22 and charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, and simple kidnapping.
47-year-old Shane Redman of 7536 Vice President Lane in Baton Rouge turned himself into authorities on Tuesday, June 20. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, and simple kidnapping charges.
33-year-old David Gonday of Gonzales was located and arrested by the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehensive Task Force on Wednesday, June 21 after officers received a crime stoppers tip that led to his location. He was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree robbery, and simple kidnapping.
All were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
This case is under investigation and more charges may be pending.
