FORMER CITY OF GONZALES EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR USING COMPANY GAS CARD – 8/2/2018 8:02 AM

According to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre, Jermoin Harrell was arrested on Monday, July 30 on theft charges.

A report was filed by the Gonzales Department of Public Works that someone had utilized a fuel card belonging to the city of Gonzales dating back to May 2017.

Detectives began an investigation and learned that Harrell had been using the company fuel card for personal use totaling $2,200 at various Ascension Parish gas stations. Further investigation revealed that he had also used the card in surrounding parishes, Chief Webre added.

Harrell, 28, of 11211 Emile Jackson Road, Gonzales, was arrested on July 30 for theft. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and was released on a $2,500 bond.

Harrell was terminated in October 2017 for unrelated reasons.
