On Tuesday, September 8, Narcotics Detectives, along with Louisiana State Police obtained a search warrant on a residence on Ashland Road in reference to drug activity being conducted at the residence, according to Sheriff Jeff Wiley.
As detectives began to execute the search warrant on the residence located at 9370 Ashland Road, Gonzales, they observed a vehicle leaving the residence. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver, identified as Brent York, and three passengers, were searched for any illegal possession of items.
Detectives located a handgun on York, and two passengers, Brian Holmes and Michael Bennett were in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, added Sheriff Wiley. THE THIRD PASSENGER???
Detectives then searched the vehicle and located a white powdery substance and a digital scale. All four were placed under arrest on Tuesday, September 8.
Detectives then executed the search warrant on the residence and located a quantity of marijuana, quantity of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), and firearms in the residence. While in the residence, a subject identified as Rae Lyn Salsman was found to be in possession of a legend drug.
Brent York, 36, of 9370 Ashland Road, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with two counts of drug paraphernalia, four counts possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of schedule II CDS, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of MDMA, and possession of marijuana.
Brian Holmes, 28, of 3110 W. Sycamore St., Gonzales, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II CDS.
Michael Bennett, 40, 17110 David Drive, Livingston, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II CDS.
Rae Lyn Salsman, 20, of 44102 Stringer Bridge Road, St. Amant, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug without a prescription.
All three were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
Karen Bosch, 34, of 39344 Camp Drive, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia. She was released after posting a $344.50 bond set by Judge Turner.
