FUGITIVE WANTED FOR MARCH MURDER IN PRAIRIEVILLE ARRESTED TUESDAY EVENING – 4/13/2016 9:49 AM

According to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, one of three suspects wanted in the March 24 murder of Dwayne Stephens on Lee Stevens Road in Prairieville was arrested late Tuesday evening after authorities received a crime stoppers tip that led to his location in Baton Rouge.

Investigators received a tip stating the whereabouts of 17-year-old Caleb Carter. Within minutes, Baton Rouge Police located Carter at Magnolia Trace apartments in Baton Rouge and arrested him without incident.

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s detectives arrived on scene and after Carter was booked into the East Baton Rouge Jail as a fugitive, he was transported to the Ascension Parish Jail and charged with first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated criminal damage to property.

The other two men, 22-year-old Marcus Harris and 22-year-old Joshua Stephens are still at large.
