45-year-old Andre Scott is wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for illegal use of weapons, aggravated second-degree battery, and aggravated assault with a firearm stemming from a May 10 incident.

According to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, deputies were dispatched to Geismar Grocery in reference to a male victim who walked into the grocery store with a laceration to his head. A store clerk called 911 and deputies arrived on scene and learned that Scott hit the male victim over the head with a handgun after the two had an altercation at Scott’s residence which is near the grocery store.

The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries and released. As the investigation continued, it was learned that the victim received a ride from someone from Scott’s residence to the grocery store. Scott then followed them to the grocery store but fled the scene once he realized that deputies had been called.

Deputies obtained a search warrant on Scott’s residence and located a 9 mm handgun under a mattress and a quantity of prescription drugs. Scott was not present at the time of the search.

Scott, 45, of 37147 Cornerview Road, Geismar is wanted for illegal use of weapons, aggravated seconddegree battery, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
