Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested 26-year-old Austin Roddy on Thursday, July 7 for seconddegree kidnapping, felony theft, criminal damage to property, and entry in places after being forbidden, according to Chief Deputy Bobby Webre.
On Wednesday, July 6, deputies responded to a residence on Roddy Road in reference to Austin Roddy refusing to leave the property. Roddy requested money from the homeowners and after they refused, Roddy became irate, damaging several items inside the residence. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, Roddy then forced the homeowner to drive him to an undisclosed location, where he was told to exit the vehicle.
Deputies obtained an arrest warrant on Roddy and located him Thursday morning at a residence on Garcon Road in Gonzales.
Roddy, of 13369 Roddy Road, Gonzales, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where he is awaiting bond.
