GONZALES MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES – 3/15/2017 2:12 PM

Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrest of 24-year-old Dexter Brown after deputies initiated a traffic stop on his vehicle for making an illegal turn and observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Deputies also observed his vehicle had illegal tint on the windows and Brown had an expired driver’s license.

After further investigation deputies located a large quantity of marijuana, a digital scale, and approximately $3,200 cash money inside the vehicle. The approximate street value of drugs seized is $3,000.

Dexter Brown, 24, of 1118 S. Vista Ave., Gonzales, was arrested on Monday evening, March 14, and charged with improper left turn, view through windows obscured prohibited, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle while license suspended.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
