GONZALES MAN CHARGED WITH SECOND-DEGREE MURDER AFTER BATON ROUGE MAN DIES OF HEROIN OVERDOSE – 6/1/2016 7:58 AM

According to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, on Tuesday, May 3, deputies responded to a residence on R. Daigle Road in Gonzales in reference to a deceased victim inside the residence.

Deputies began an investigation and arrested Andre Wilson, 20, of 45497 Rodney Road, St. Amant for obstruction of justice, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia and he was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Tuesday, May 3. It was learned that Wilson and the victim were acquaintances and were hanging out together at the residence.

Deputies continued their investigation and learned that the deceased victim died from a lethal dose of heroin that was supplied by Wilson. Once Wilson realized that deputies were called he attempted to dispose of the drug paraphernalia before deputies arrived on scene.

On Friday, May 27, deputies subsequently charged Wilson with second-degree murder.
