39-year-old Kermit Jackson, who was shot multiple times on Carrie Lane in Geismar Monday morning, January 9, has died.
Charges have been upgraded to second-degree murder for all four suspects involved in the shooting. Two of the suspects, Jyvariel Harvey and Kentrell Lewis, are still incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail, according to Sheriff Jeff Wiley.
The other two suspects, identified as 25-year-old Johnathan Darville and 22-year-old Javante Haynes, are both still at-large. Detectives also made an additional arrest on Thursday evening of 37- year-old Rachel Bueche. She was arrested for accessory after the fact to second-degree murder in the Carrie Lane shooting.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward for the information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Haynes and Darville. Crime Stoppers is offering a separate and independent cash reward leading to the arrest of both Haynes and Darville.
