Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday evening, deputies responded to a shooting near W. Tenth Street and Orange Street in Donaldsonville where one victim, later identified as 22-year-old Dequan Riley, of Gonzales, was found lying deceased in the roadway.

A short while later, deputies located and arrested 20-year-old Deontre Powe, of Donaldsonville. Powe was charged with second-degree murder. This case is currently under investigation and more charges may be pending.
