Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre reports the arrest of Brian Chadwick, 30, who failed to register as a sex offender.

In July, detectives began an investigation after receiving information from a Crime Stoppers tip that stated Chadwick was living in Ascension Parish and failed to register as a sex offender.

Narcotics detectives conducted surveillance on his residence, located at 38045 Tupelo Street in Gonzales, in reference to receiving information that drugs were also being sold out of the residence, however, no drugs were found in Chadwick’s possession. Narcotics detectives advised Chadwick that he needed to come in to register as a sex offender in which Chadwick turned himself into authorities on Friday, September 18.

As the investigation continued, it was revealed that Chadwick had been living at the residence since July 2015.

Chadwick was convicted of sexual abuse battery in August 2006 in Virginia and was placed on probation for two years and had to register as a sex offender for 15 years, added Lt. Col. Bobby Webre. Chadwick has a lengthy criminal history with seven arrests stemming from drug charges. In May 2014 he was sentenced to five years probation.

Brian Chadwick, 30, of 38045 Tupelo Street, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender and probation violation. He was placed in the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set.
