Sorrento man dies after altercation with 16-year-old son

On Thursday night, October 22, deputies responded to a residence on Airline Highway in Sorrento regarding a person being shot.

When deputies arrived, they located 47-year-old Alvin Geisenheimer suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on scene.

After further investigation it was learned that an altercation occurred between the father and son and the son shot the father.

The 16-year-old son was charged second-degree murder and booked into the St. Bernard Youth Detention Center.
