Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports that the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Tax Division mailed out 44,965 tax notices to Ascension Parish property owners on Monday, November 23.
The total amount to be collected is $126,729,838.03 and property owners can view their taxes on our website at www.ascensionsheriff.com/PayTaxes and owners may begin making payments beginning December 1 on our website through our secure online payment center. Sheriff Wiley reminds citizens that these taxes help fund all aspects of public service in Ascension Parish such as schools, hospitals, fire departments, drainage, law enforcement, and libraries.
Property taxes are due by December 31, 2015 and unpaid taxes become delinquent on January 1, 2016. Per state law, delinquent taxes accrue interest at a rate of one percent per month until paid. Payments may be mailed to P.O. Box 118, Gonzales, LA 70707. You may also drop off your payment at either our Gonzales or Donaldsonville office. Gonzales location: 828 S Irma Blvd, Gonzales, LA 70737 and the Donaldsonville location: 300 Houmas St, Donaldsonville, LA 70346.
