THREE ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES – 6/21/2017 4:23 PM

Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports the arrest of a Prairieville man on simple robbery and drug charges on Monday, June 19.

On Wednesday, June 7, deputies were dispatched to Aikens Road in Prairieville in reference to a robbery. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located a male who advised he had been robbed on Tiger Heights Road.

As the investigation continued, it was learned that the victim and a friend traveled to Tiger Heights Road to meet with someone but when they arrived the victim was dragged out of his vehicle by a group of unknown males. The victim then fled the area on foot when one of the subjects said he had a gun, leaving his vehicle behind. Deputies later learned that the victim left an AK 47 in the vehicle that was not recovered, added Sheriff Wiley.

During the course of the investigation, Jarrous Mitchell was identified as a person of interest. Through further investigation probable cause was developed which led to a warrant being issued for Mitchell’s arrest.

On Monday, June 19, detectives located Mitchell at Prairieville Park. He was arrested and detectives located a quantity of marijuana and codeine cough syrup in his possession. Two other subjects, identified as St. Taurus Fowler and Qasim Alanos, were also at the park with Mitchell.

Detectives searched Fowler’s vehicle with his consent and located an AK-47, a handgun with an extended magazine and a regular magazine, along with a quantity of marijuana and codeine cough syrup. Alanos was in possession of marijuana and held an active patrol warrant for damage to property.

Jarrous Mitchell, 21, of 15270 Roy Rogers Road, Prairieville, was arrested and charged with simple robbery, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of schedule II CDS, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000 by Judge Stromberg.

St Taurus Fowler, 22, of 13385 Leblanc Road, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS, illegal carrying of weapons, and possession of schedule III CDS. Hisbond was set at $60,000 by Judge Stromberg.

Qasim Alanos, 20, of 520 Daphne Drive, Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, parks rules and regulations, and simple criminal damage to property, and later bonded.

All were booked on June 19 into the Ascension Parish Jail.
