TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN JULY 7 SHOOTING IN DONALDSONVILLE – 7/17/2018 9:43 AM

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bobby Webre reports the arrests of 24-year-old Winston Foster and 20-year-old Travis Jones who were wanted in the July 7 shooting in Donaldsonville.

In a joint effort between the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, both Foster and Jones were located on Tuesday, July 17 at separate residences in Donaldsonville.

On July 7, deputies responded to the area of St. Vincent Street and 5th Street in Donaldsonville where three victims had been shot and treated for their injuries at a nearby hospital.

During the incident, Foster and Jones fired shots striking multiple cars and several residences.

Winston Foster, 24, of 3039 Mt. Olive Church Road, Donaldsonville, was arrested and charged with assault by drive-by shooting, three counts attempted first-degree murder, eight counts aggravated damage to property, illegal use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

Travis Jones, 20, of 3099 Stewart Road, Donaldsonville, was arrested and charged with assault by driveby shooting, three counts attempted first-degree murder, eight counts aggravated damage to property, illegal use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

They were both booked into the Ascension Parish Jail were no bond has been set.

Foster has a lengthy criminal history with ten arrests and charges stemming from aggravated assault, second-degree murder, domestic abuse battery, and drug charges and is currently on probation.

Jones has been arrested twice with charges stemming from illegal carrying of weapons, possession of cocaine, and resisting an officer.
