Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a hit and run that occurred shortly before midnight Friday night in Donaldsonville.

The victim, identified as 51-year-old Norsha Junior of Donaldsonville, succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.

As the investigation continued, deputies were able to identify the subject and vehicle that hit the victim. It was learned that the subject called 9-1-1 to report they had hit an unknown object in the roadway and had stopped away from the scene. The subject has cooperated with law enforcement officials and no charges have been filed.
